Job Details   Vibration and Instrument Technician requires understanding of fundamental principles of vibration measurement and analysis. The position requires the services of vibration equipment, repairing vibration equipment and provides field vibration measurement and analysis support. The candidate can be contacted by plants, as required for conducting vibration measurement and analysis related to rotating equipment and structural systems.

Qualifications:
  • Must have at least two (2) years degree in Engineering Technology (Mechanical or Instrumentation) or closely related field.
  • Must have five (5) years of relevant experience in engineering support work, 3 years of which should have been in rotating equipment repairs, instrumentation, vibration measurements and diagnosis.
Task Description:
  • Conduct different types of vibration measurements using FFT analyzers and/or data acquisition systems on rotating equipment, piping, process equipment and structural systems.
  • Diagnose basic vibration problems, conduct field balancing on rotating equipment and write technical reports.
  • Develop technical vibration measurement procedures.
  • Assist in developing and teaching company courses where vibration instrumentation and equipment is required.
  • Specify and order vibration instruments based on forecasting need.
  • Assist senior engineers in the development of technology items and best practices.
  • Performs moderate vibration measurement instrument repair.
