 Daniel Cruz Hernandez was a registered Mechanical Engineer in 1975 who earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines. Before coming to IPAMS to see his job options, he worked at Hilton International, Manila, as Purchasing Agent of the Purchasing Department. He also worked as Shift Supervisor in the Engineering Department. But Daniel was no ordinary man. He worked like there’s no tomorrow, and kept his dream alive. One day he was going to make it. He was going to be somebody. And true enough, because of his hard-earned efforts at the Hilton, he was proclaimed Courtesy Awardee in 1976 and received various commendations from the General Manager.
At the young age of 26, Daniel decided to pursue his application at IPAMS.
“This is it. This is the ONE chance I have to finally getting closer to my dream”, he said to himself.
IPAMS was instrumental in this opportunity for Daniel to be where he is now. Because of his good track record and his credentials, he was chosen as one of those who first joined Saudi Arabian Oil Company (SAUDI ARAMCO) in 1978 as an Engineering Aide. He was assigned to work in the Terminal Department, Ras Tanura. With his excellent performance and fulfillment of job requirements and assignments, he was quickly promoted a year after as Assistant Engineer.
It doesn’t stop there. With continuous high performance in his work, he held various positions within Saudi Aramco, such as Cost Engineer and P&P Analyst. In 2004, he was again promoted, and to this day, holds the position of Engineer III.
During his free time in Ras Tanura, Daniel makes sure he lives the healthy habit of participating in sports such as tennis, engaging in therapeutic hobbies such as cross-stitching, and making lasting memories and establishing friendships. He had traveled to different Asian countries, France, Canada and USA, during his repatriation leave.
Completing 29 years in 2007, Daniel says Saudi Arabia is already his second home because he has built his life and career at Saudi Aramco. He loves his company, and is loved and respected as well by his colleagues.
Daniel married a fellow Filipina in 1988. They now have two beautiful daughters whom Daniel was able to enter into good schools in the Philippines.
In 2012, Daniel will complete 35 years of service with Saudi Aramco. He will reach his retirement age and plans to build a new house back in the Philippines where he will spend his much needed quality time with his family.
