Since 1998, IPAMS has been servicing Qatar Airways for its Cabin Crew requirements. From the onset of the Initial Screening, to the Assessment and Final Interview, what really does it take to be a part of the Cabin Crew Family of Qatar Airways? Aside from the basic minimum requirements, what else should you look out for?
Here are some suggestions to boost your confidence in your goal to be a Qatar Airways Cabin Crew:
1. Research on the Job. In order for you to love the job as Cabin Crew, research on it and read, read, read. Ask a lot of questions from professionals in the industry or from those who have worked as Cabin Crew. It pays to know what the job is all about.
2. Get started with your documents. Provide a copy of your resume, educational and employment credentials, and two (2) 2x2 photographs, including a full-length photo. Come visit the IPAMS main office to start with your application. You may also fill out the online application form through
www.ipams.com.
3. Be Outstanding in Physical Appearance and Be Physically Fit. The job of a Flight Attendant can be a wonderful experience. However, it can also be grueling. In this regard, make sure you are physically fit for the job. Applicants must be in good health with good eyesight, and can swim. Eat healthy, live healthy.
4. Consider Other Requirements. Make sure when you flash your smile, you have radiant-looking good teeth, your skin complexion is smooth, and that you stand tall. Be confident and well-poised. Secure your hair in place, and be well-groomed at all times.
5. Formal Education is Important. The starting age for eligibility is 20 years. You must have at least finished High School or you are in the College level. Also, work on the fluency of your spoken and written English.
6. Show that You Have Personality. Friendly, Charming, Charismatic, Positive. These are only a few of the wonderful characteristics which we are looking for. Filipinos are known for their hospitability and welcoming disposition. Show that you truly are Filipino by radiating these traits.
7. Be Real and True to Yourself. We want people who are real, and who have a passion to be of service. Do you care about people? Are you empathic? Sympathetic? You get the picture.
8. Be Committed. Do you have the commitment to work hard and stay long in this career? Do you have what it takes to aim high and always perform to the best of your abilities? These are some questions you should ask yourself because being a Cabin Crew is all about being cut-out for the job and having the commitment for it.
9. Learn Different Cultures. There is such a thing as cultural differences and sensitivity. You will be working with different people from across the globe and dealing with colleagues, passengers and new friends. Also, you will be based in Doha, Qatar, and will be provided all your needs and accommodation. However, being away from home may be tough for some. Open yourself up to new adventures, new friends and new experiences.
10. Do Not Give Up. Continue learning new things each day. Expand your horizons and connect with different people. Education is a continuous process. Assess yourself and see that there is always room for improvement. If you do not make it the first time, there is always a second, a third, and so on and so forth. Keep making those improvements on yourself and hopefully, you will finally pass and make it to Qatar Airways!
